-Gem Residences @ Toa Payoh

How would you describe the design style for this project?

The design of our external facade design stems from our namesake, gemstone as inspiration. Our key consideration in material selection is durability within manageable cost. The use of artificial greenery for our external facade allows us a design that reflects the pattern of a faceted gem and matches our overall material palette.

“Artificial greenery allows us to green spaces that we cannot do with real plants.”

What were some of your considerations for using artificial greenery?

The greening of the external facade allows us to soften the appearance of the multi-storey carpark, which was necessary as it is visible from key areas of development.

Design efficiency was brought about with modular panels that were prefabricated then installed in order to create a dynamic green facade design. GreenTurf also provided us with a wide range of products that looked like real plants, allowing us to create a realistic-looking green wall for the facade. Their durable products also comply with authority requirements.
